BEFORE & AFTER...

All On 4 Implants...

Dentists have been working hard at developing newer and better methods of replacing missing teeth for well over 100 years. A skull of an ancient Viking was unearthed some years back that contained one implanted iron/alloy tooth that had been placed in the upper right socket of the Vikings missing eye tooth!! Mummies have been found in Egypt where teeth had been wired into position with pure gold wire. In other words tooth retention has been an issue since the dawn of civilization.

Today, dental implant technology has advanced to the point where 4 correctly placed implants can support and retain a full arch of teeth! There is a high degree of skill involved, so not all dentists are qualified to perform this amazing service; but the good news is we have a team of experts, from those who place the implants to those who fabricate the prosthesis that will be retained by the implants, to those who actually place the prosthesis on the implants.

Full Mouth Dental Implants...

We have a wonderful system for impression taking that eliminates the trays filled with impression material that many find uncomfortable. Our system is digital so that we take an image in video form that compiles all of the details digitally to 40 microns of accuracy!! That’s smaller than a human hair!! This digital information is sent to a highly skilled laboratory where the prosthesis is designed on a model which has been 3D Printed from the digital data received from us.

We use CT Scans to identify the best location to place the implants including the proper angulation of the implants. Angulation is very important since we have learned through the years that in order to retain a full arch of teeth on only 4 implants, the forces that will be applied on the implants and prosthesis while the patient is chewing must be properly directed so that the implants work in unison and the force placed on the prosthesis will not cause improper torque against any other component of the implant system. In other words the team must be well trained!

All On Four Implants Cost...

Patients worry about the cost of this service. In reality, it costs less for an all-on-4 full arch bridge than it costs for the older technique that uses many more implants.  We just keep getting better and better technology and materials that allow us to provide more predictable services.

If you are a good candidate for all-on-4, the typical cost is $30,000 per arch, everything included from start to finish.

So for someone needing only the upper arch for example, the total cost would be $30,000. For someone needing full mouth all-on-four (upper and lower arches), the total cost would be $60,000.

What If I Am Missing Most Or All Of My Teeth?

Patients who have partial or full dentures are actually the ones who would benefit most from implant therapy! Virtually every patient who’s ever worn a denture will say that they their ability to eat, chew, taste, and even speak has been compromised from the loss of their teeth. This is a serious impact on people’s quality of life as it restricts their ability to eat their favorite foods, talk confidently in public, and physiologically simply makes people feel older.

With advanced treatments like All-on-4® it is possible to restore both upper and lower arches with a full set of teeth resting on just 8 implants (4 upper and 4 lower). This is a fixed prosthesis, not needing to be removed in and out at night and is as close to a fresh start as a smile can get. Other options such as locator implants are much less expensive and time consuming and allow existing dentures to be retrofitted to snap on to as little as 2 implants for added support and retention. These locator implants will require the denture to be removed every night but are a drastic improvement to conventional denture!
